Coletta Named by DuPont as a Coatings
Worldwide Business Director
TROY, Mich., May 8 Anthony (Tony) A. Coletta has been
named a worldwide business director for DuPont Automotive to serve the
automotive coatings needs of General Motors and to coordinate regional
business with DaimlerChrysler, it was announced here today by Marty M.
McQuade, vice president, DuPont Herberts Automotive Systems.
Coletta succeeds Robert P. Strazzella, who has been appointed director,
U.S. Automotive Refinish for DuPont Performance Coatings. Strazzella plans to
relocate to Wilmington, Del.
Coletta previously served as operations manager and assistant plant
manager for the DuPont Mt. Clemens, Mich., automotive coatings plant since
1997.
Coletta joined DuPont in 1981 as a project engineer in the company's
Flint, Mich. plant and became a first-line supervisor at the site in 1983.
Starting in 1985, he moved through a series of product, technical and
marketing positions for DuPont Automotive Refinish in Wilmington, Del. and Los
Angeles, Calif. He returned to Michigan in 1992 as vice president - marketing
for DuPont Kansai Automotive Coatings, a joint venture to serve the coatings
interests of Japanese automakers. In 1996, he became senior product programs
manager, working on the DuPont portfolio of environmentally compliant coatings
for the automotive original equipment market.
Coletta was a 1992 recipient of the DuPont Marketing Excellence Award for
developing new, low emission coatings systems for the repair market in
southern California and helping to model nationally consistent air quality
rules covering automotive repair facilities.
Coletta, 42, was born in Wilmington, Del. He holds a bachelor of science
degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor,
and a master's degree in business administration, also from the University of
Michigan. He and his wife, Lisa, have four children and live in Rochester
Hills, Mich.
