Goodson Heads to Peach State Ready to Do Battle
USAR ProCup Series Driver Set for Action Saturday Night
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (May 7, 2001) -- When the USAR ProCup Series takes to
the track this weekend at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Ga., Hal
Goodson and Taylor Motorsports will be looking for a return to victory lane.
Goodson heads into the event coming off the team's first NASCAR Busch Series
race last weekend at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway. Goodson's solid
run in the Richmond race ended early when his machine was tapped from behind
by another car, sending the Darlington, S.C. native hard into the wall.
While the impact caused extensive damage to the car, Goodson was able to
walk away unscathed.
"We have to put what happened at Richmond behind us," Goodson said. "This
week is another week and there's more racing to be done. I'm looking forward
to getting back in the car this weekend and racing at Peach State."
In the first five events on the USAR ProCup Series Southern Division this
season, Goodson has one victory, two top-five's and four top-ten's, and
currently sits fifth in series point standings.
"We are taking a car to Peach State this weekend that is capable of running
up front and contending for the win," Goodson said. "I feel very confident
heading into this weekend's race."
USAR ProCup Series qualifying at Peach State Speedway is set for Sat., May
12 at 4:30 p.m. EST. The 250-lap event will get the green flag later that
evening at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Scott Hall Set For Double Duty This Weekend
Taylor Motorsports Driver Will Compete in Two Separate Racing Series
WINTSON-SALEM, N.C. (May 7, 2001) -- Scott Hall will gain plenty of seat
time this weekend as he will compete in two separate racing series in two
separate nights. Hall will campaign the No. 25 Carlin Financial Chevrolet
Monte Carlo for Taylor Motorsports Friday night in ARA All-Stars Racing
Series action at Tri-County Speedway in Hudson, N.C. The following night
will see the rising star behind the wheel of the No. 54 Taylor Motorsports
entry for USAR ProCup Series action at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson,
Ga.
"I can't wait for this weekend to get started," Hall said. "While it will be
hard on the guys, everyone is very excited about this upcoming weekend. It
should be a lot of fun."
Hall heads into Friday night's ARA Racing Series action at Tri-County
Speedway fresh off a top-five finish two weeks ago in series action at
Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway.
"We need to keep that momentum going heading into this weekend," said Jason
Hall, Scott Hall's crew chief and twin brother. "I know that we are taking
cars that are capable of running up front. As long as Lady Luck stays on our
side, we should we okay."
Hall's entry in the USAR ProCup Series race at Peach State Speedway Saturday
night will mark his second effort in the series. Hall will run as a teammate
to USAR ProCup Series regular Hal Goodson. Taylor Motorsports will enter
Hall in select USAR ProCup Series events this season in preparation for
competing full-time in the series with Hall next year.
Negotiating travel arrangements may be the hardest thing for Hall this
weekend. "We are still looking at the best way to get the car and myself
down to Peach State for Saturday's race," he said. "The plan is for me to
leave right after the race Friday night at Tri-County and at least get
halfway to Peach State. The ProCup car will hopefully already be down there
in Hal's (Hall's teammate) trailer."
ARA Racing Series action at Tri-County Speedway is set for this Friday, May
11 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
USAR ProCup Series racing action at Peach State Speedway gets the green flag
Saturday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. EST.
