Gulfstream Selects Eaton for Power Plant Fluid and Electrical Engine Build Up Systems Integration

    CLEVELAND--May 7, 2001--Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has been selected by Gulfstream Aerospace to be the Engine Build Up (EBU) systems integrator for the next generation of its GIV aircraft. The new contract award, made to Eaton's Aerospace business, includes the installation design, engineering and certification of the 12 sub-systems that make up the EBU. The total value of the program is approximately $30 million over the next 10 years.
    The Gulfstream EBU system consists of all of the fluid and electrical sub-systems that connect the power plant to the airframe. This includes the engine bleed air, hydraulics, fuel fire detection and suppression, oil and electrical harnesses.
    The Eaton sub-system integration team consists of five engineers co-located in Savannah, Georgia, with Gulfstream and Rolls-Royce personnel. Eaton, through its Aeroquip brand product managers, has had extensive EBU sub-system design and installation experience from previous programs.
