Brittany Corporation Names James C. Boldt Executive Vice President

    CLEVELAND--May 7, 2001--James C. Boldt has been named Executive Vice President of Brittany Corporation, according to Frederick W. Clarke, President and CEO of Brittany Corporation, a Cleveland-based holding company. Boldt will also act as the corporation's chief financial officer.
    "We are fortunate to gain Jim's depth of experience as a market-oriented financial executive with business expertise in manufacturing, services, and banking industries," said Clarke. He indicated that, "Jim is skilled in financial management and analysis, strategic planning and market development and sales."
    Most recently, Boldt served as President of international operations for Austin Powder Company. He originally joined Austin as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer where he lead the finance, corporate development, and administrative functions.
    Prior to joining Austin Powder Company, Boldt was President of American Alloy Corporation in Cleveland where he headed an effort to enhance sales growth and profitability and underwrote a successful sale to a strategic buyer.
    Boldt previously had introduced new products at Progressive Corporation, started Central States Airlines, and managed commercial banking relationships in Ohio and Pennsylvania for the First National Bank of Chicago.
    Boldt is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Michigan Graduate School of Business Administration.

    Brittany Corporation, a Cleveland based company, owns several manufacturing companies which produce metal stampings and castings, die-cut materials, close tolerance gaskets, and packaged desiccants for refrigeration, air conditioning, brakes, hydraulic cylinder and suspension system applications. The companies have 10 manufacturing plants in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan as well as Mexico with consolidated sales of approximately $200 million. Primarily serving automotive and industrial customers, Brittany also has an investment in a 100-year-old pottery business serving the houseware and gardenware markets through major specialty stores and retail chains.
