Mitchell International Introduces UltraMate Advanced Estimating System, Version 4.7

    SAN DIEGO--May 7, 2001--

New Version of Industry's Most Proven Windows(TM)-Based Estimating
System Offers Collision Repair and Insurance Professionals Greater
Flexibility With New and Improved Features

Mitchell International today announced the availability of a new version of UltraMate(R), the industry's most proven Windows-based collision estimating system, with numerous enhancements to offer collision repair and insurance professionals greater flexibility in preparing estimates. UltraMate 4.7 offers new cycle time data entry fields (for collision shops), mail merge enhancements to personalize form letters, detailed notes on OEM parts and other new features designed to benefit the thousands of users across North America who rely on UltraMate as their estimating system of choice.
"We continue to enhance UltraMate to make it even easier for repair shops, field appraisers, insurance companies and parts vendors to do business together," said Paul Gange, Mitchell's vice president of product management. "UltraMate Version 4.7 is the most advanced, reliable and easy-to-use estimating product available."
Road tested and proven reliable by both field claims staff and collision repairers for more than seven years, UltraMate continues to be one of the most widely used systems in North America. It also scores high marks among users. In a recent survey of U.S. collision repair shops by Collision Repair Industry Insight magazine, UltraMate scored highest in 12 out of 15 customer satisfaction categories among the top three estimating systems.
As with earlier versions, UltraMate 4.7 displays all necessary information on one easy-to-navigate screen, allowing the quickest and most intuitive workflow for writing a collision damage estimate. Behind the scenes, UltraMate utilizes the Mitchell Parts and Labor database, the recognized leader in collision repair information for over 55 years -- trusted for its completeness and accuracy and respected as the industry standard. UltraMate is also backed by Mitchell's award-winning customer service team.
Among its many new features, UltraMate Version 4.7 offers:

-- Cycle Time Data Fields make it easier for collision shops to
track events involved in the repair process. New fields for
information input include drop-off date and time, delivery
date, repair start and completion dates and vehicle pick up
        date and time.

-- Enhanced Mail Merge allows shops to personalize form letters
using administrative data from the UltraMate database.
Templates, including follow-up, thank you and confirmation
        letters, are also included.

-- OEM Parts Notes now display new part details in the detail
notes text box and on printed estimates. When an OEM part is
available only as a remanufactured part, the footnote "OEM
Remanufactured Part" displays on the parts detail screen.
Discontinued parts are also footnoted in the same way.

-- Blend-refinish Identifier. Labor time is now flagged with an
asterisk as a user judgement item when the labor type for a
part is "repair" and the refinish is assigned as "blend."

-- Expanded Custom Message Area provides additional space for
        customized messages.

As with previous versions of UltraMate, Version 4.7 complies with CIECA EMS 2.0 standards and will allow open transfer of information between UltraMate and body shop management systems.
