Collins & Aikman Makes Plant Manager Appointments
TROY, Mich.--May 4, 2001--Collins & Aikman Corporation announced today the promotions of Todd Brandon, Mark Goemaere and Gary Taylor to Plant Manager. All appointments are effective immediately.Todd Brandon, promoted to Plant Manager of Collins & Aikman's facility in Albemarle, North Carolina, has been with the Company for most of his professional career. Over the past 14 years, Brandon has held a number of progressively responsible management positions, most recently having served as Plant Manager at the Company's St. Clair, Mich., facility. In his new position, Brandon will be responsible for the Albemarle plant's carpet tufting, dyeing, and coating operations and will report directly to Millard King, Chief Operating Officer, U.S. Carpet Operations. Brandon holds a bachelor's degree in textile management from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C.
Mark Goemaere, promoted to Plant Manager of the Company's St. Clair, Michigan, facility was previously Manufacturing Manager, a position he had held since joining the Company in 1998. Goemaere will be responsible for overseeing the St. Clair facility's molded floor carpet manufacturing operations and will report directly to Dan Marak, Chief Operating Officer, Canadian Carpet & Acoustics Operations. Goemaere, who attended Macomb County Community College in Warren, Michigan, was a Plant Manager with Triad Plastics prior to joining Collins & Aikman.
Gary Taylor, promoted to Plant Manager of Collins & Aikman's Canton, Ohio, facility, was previously that location's Senior Plant Controller. Taylor, who will report directly to Michael Geaghan, Vice President of Operations--Accessory Mat & Acoustics Operations, will be responsible for overseeing the facility's accessory floor mat production and technical operations. Taylor served as Cost Accountant for Morgan Adhesive Company prior to joining Collins & Aikman and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.
