PENDLETON, Ind. - ASA is actively seeking any and all information pertaining to the past 31 years of the Winchester 400. Anyone who has been involved in the annual Fall Classic over the years is urged to contact ASA as soon as possible to est ablish contact information and to feed a growing database.

“We don’t want to leave any stone unturned in gathering information for our special commemorative program,” commented ASA Executive Vice President Brian Robbins. “We also want to find out who’s out there and available to participate in the special festivit ies we’re planning for the gala weekend. The idea is to look back over the past 31 years of this event, reminisce and celebrate the history of the Winchester 400 as well as start a new tradition for the future.”

A network is being established to help gather as much information as possible regarding the illustrious history of the Winchester 400. Competitors, officials, announcers, photographers, members of the media, fans and virtually anyone else involved in the F all Classic since its inception in 1970 are encouraged to contact the ASA office with their name, mailing address, email address, phone number(s) and fax number.

In addition to contact information, ASA desires to record stories, facts and anecdotes from former competitors, participants and fans relating to the race held each autumn at Winchester Speedway. Photographs that may be scanned or otherwise reproduced for publication are also being sought.

While ASA harbors a healthy amount of statistical information from Winchester 400 events it sanctioned, much remains to be gathered. Specifically, ASA is seeking Winchester 400 results and information from 1992 through 1998 when the NASCAR All-Pro Series s anctioned the event.
