American Standard Announces 2001 Voting Results

    PISCATAWAY, N.J., May 3 American Standard Companies Inc.
today announced to shareowners the results of the 2001 proxy
voting at the company's annual meeting.

    Proposal 1, Election of Directors -- All directors received in excess of
52 million or at least 99.4 percent of shares voted for re-election.
    Proposal 2, Ratification of Auditors -- Ernst & Young LLP received in
excess of 52 million or at least 99.6 percent of shares voted for
ratifiication.

residential buildings; plumbing products, sold under such brands as American
