AMETEK Aerospace Selected to Provide Sensors for New CF34-10 Regional Jet Engine

    PAOLI, Pa., May 3 AMETEK Aerospace has been selected to
provide the engine sensor suite for GE Aircraft Engines' new CF34-10D/E jet
engine.  AMETEK will supply a full complement of engine sensors for the new
regional jet engine, including sensors for temperatures, pressures, speeds,
oil level/temperature, and vibration.

Engines in awarding the entire engine sensor package to one supplier,"

Aircraft Engines with over 150 different products, including mass fuel-flow
transmitters, oil-level and speed sensors, on and off engine electronic cables

sensors, and pressure and accelerometer sensors.
    The CF34-10 series engine, rated in the 18,000-pound thrust class, is the
larger, more powerful version of the CF34 series engines, which have compiled
an outstanding performance record since 1983 and have been the workhorses of
the regional jet industry since 1992.  Detail design and concurrent
engineering are underway on the CF34-10 engine.  The engine is scheduled to
enter testing during the first quarter of 2002, with FAA certification
targeted for early 2003.
    The CF34-10E has been chosen to power the 108-passenger Embraer ERJ-190
airliner that is scheduled to enter service in late 2004, while the CF34-10D
is the exclusive engine for Fairchild Aerospace's new 928JET, a 100-passenger
regional jetliner scheduled to enter service in 2005.
