Dear Marc:

While motor vehicle theft is down almost 14 percent since 1998, according to
the FBI Uniform Crime Report, about 94 cars are stolen every day in Northern
California. That¹s four cars every hour and a quarter. In the Sacramento
area alone, nearly 4500 cars and trucks are stolen annually. And according
to the California Highway Patrol, the exportation of stolen vehicles,
vehicle insurance fraud, and commercial cargo thefts are increasing
throughout the state.

LoJack Corporation, marketer of the nation¹s only police-operated
stolen-vehicle recovery system, in conjunction with participating police
agencies in three Northern California counties, recently announced the
activation of its stolen vehicle recovery network in the Sacramento,
California area. Today, a majority of the Sacramento, Placer, Solano and
Yolo County police agencies, Sheriff¹s departments and the Placer
County-based post of the California Highway Patrol are participating in the
LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System.

I am writing to explore the possibility of working with you over the next
few weeks to develop a feature story about the LoJack Stolen Vehicle
Recovery System, its unique features and its remarkable effectiveness at
tracing and recovering stolen consumer vehicles and commercial equipment
like generators, bulldozers and tractor-trailers.

The patented LoJack System includes a device purchased by a business or
consumer for a suggested retail price of $595. There is no monthly
monitoring charge. The unit stands ready until a theft is reported to the
police. Then, using radio and computer technology, police activate the
LoJack unit and it begins to emit an inaudible radio signal.

Most importantly, LoJack is the only commercial system available to the
general consumer and businesses with a signal that can penetrate buildings,
a unique feature which none of the satellite GPS systems possess. Once
activated, LoJack tracking computers in police cruisers and helicopters can
follow the signal and, in most cases, locate the car, truck or commercial
heavy equipment.

In 2000 a sampling of LoJack successes included:
… Recovery of over $1 million worth of construction equipment in Detroit in
less
than 16 hours, with all the equipment recovered intact.
… Uncovering a major theft ring at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport in two
hours
… Discovery of a chop shop and recovery of two dump trucks in Miami¹s Dade
County

I would be happy to provide you with additional information about LoJack
Corporation, its current products and, if you desire, to schedule an
interview for you with John Raber, LoJack¹s West Coast Divisional Vice
President, to develop a feature story.

Thank you in advance for considering this request. I will contact you soon
to determine how we may proceed. In the meantime, I can be reached by phone
at 818-992-4353 or via e-mail at jellison@jmprpublicrelations.com.
