Schrader's Thoughts On Richmond...
"I'm a big fan of Richmond. It is a great little race track and I really enjoy going there. We haven't done too bad there in the past, usually finishing around the top 15. A top-15 would be exactly what we need at Richmond. We've had a couple of tough weeks and what we really need is another top 10. We had two right in a row with Atlanta and Texas, so we know that we should be finishing at least in the top 10. We know where we need to be, we just need to get there."
Schrader's Richmond Highlights...
The "M&M's"® Pontiac running at Richmond International Raceway has yet to take the track in 2001, but made several starts in 2000. Last year this same car made starts at Las Vegas, California, the second Pocono, second Charlotte race and Homestead.
"M&M's"® Racing Team driver Ken Schrader has a special note for Richmond International Raceway. Schrader, who made his 500th career Winston Cup start at Martinsville, is set to make his 500th consecutive start on June 3rd at Dover Downs. What makes this special to Richmond is that his consecutive streak started while driving his rookie year for Virginia car owner Junie Donlavey. Schrader drove five scattered races in 1984 for Elmo Langley, but started full time for June in 1985. He went on to win the 1985 Rookie-Of-The-Year title.
The MOST COLORFUL FAN(tm) OF NASCAR® promotion had an exceptional weekend at California Speedway. The Colorful Fan Patrol found Californians to be quite colorful, ranging from "M&M's" decorated fingernails to a hat topped off with an inflatable replica of Sterling Marlin's.
