Valeo Honored by General Motors as a 2000 Supplier of the Year; Company Receives Eighth GM Award
WASHINGTON--May 1, 2001--Valeo was named a General Motors Supplier of the Year, recognizing superior performance in the areas of quality, service, technology and price of the company's starters and IP switches activities.The award was presented during ceremonies Saturday, April 28 at the historic Warner Theatre in the nation's capital.
"It is an honor for Valeo and the starters and IP switches teams to be named General Motors Supplier of the Year," said Valeo chairman and CEO Thierry Morin, who accepted the award on behalf of the company. "This award marks the eighth time GM recognized Valeo's dedicated efforts to exceed performance goals, and clearly illustrates the effectiveness of the Valeo 5 Axes for customer satisfaction. The GM Supplier of the Year awards began as a global program in 1992. Award-winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. This year, General Motors honored 165 suppliers from 20 countries for their excellence throughout 2000.
