"I like Richmond because it's a short track. I wish we raced short tracks all the time. We run both the spring and fall events at Richmond during the night which always adds an element of excitement to the event."- Tim Fedewa

Tim Fedewa's Thoughts On Richmond . . . "Richmond is a tough race track when it comes to getting a good set-up because it's a combination between a short track and a superspeedway. It's less than a mile in length so it's obviously a short track. The design of the straightaway on the front stretch and how turn one is shaped makes it similar to a superspeedway. It also has that same D-shape similar to Texas and Charlotte. The rest of the track has short track characteristics. Teams have to find a set-up that's a cross between the superspeedways and the short tracks. That's where it gets tricky."

Crew Chief Donnie Richeson On Richmond . . . "The schedule is a little different for teams this year. We qualify Thursday night about the same time we'll be racing Friday night. Our last practice is also a little closer to the time we race, which should help with getting a more accurate set up. The track is fairly sensitive to weather and cloud cover. The change in the schedule should help with developing a more accurate race set-up."

Equipment . . . "Twister" is the car Fedewa will compete with this weekend in the "Hardee's 250" at Richmond International Raceway. This will be "Twister's" first appearance in the 2001 Busch Series season. "Twister's" best performance during the 2000 season was a fourth-place finish at New Hampshire. It's also the same car the team finished sixth with at Myrtle Beach last season.

Last Weekend In California . . . The Phillips 66 team started the "Auto Club 300" in 12th place. After running in the top 10 for part of the event, Fedewa finished the day in 11th place. Fedewa considers the race one of the team's most consistent performances in 2001.

"The Phillips 66 Chevrolet was good all weekend long," Fedewa said. "There was a lot of green flag racing which spread the field out. We just couldn't get caught up to make a run at the top five or the win. I am really happy for my teammate Hank (Parker, Jr.), for winning the race. It was a win for all of Cicci-Welliver Racing."
