Acura Sets New April Sales Record
TORRANCE, Calif., May 1 Acura recorded a new best-ever
April with sales up 6.3% to 12,815 on the strength of TL and MDX sales. TL
sales rose 2.9% to a new April record of 5,997. Year-to-date sales of the
3.2 TL, the best-selling import luxury sedan in the U.S., are up 6.5 percent
over the previous year, while demand for the MDX continues at a sellout pace
with sales of 14,422 through April.
Year-to-date Acura sales of 54,865 are up 27.8 percent over last year as
customers continue to respond to Acura's growing stable of new vehicles.
"Acura continues to build on its momentum, going into the second quarter
with the strongest product lineup the brand has ever had," said Dick Colliver,
executive vice president of sales."
In July, Acura will launch the all-new 2002 Acura RSX sports coupe.
Featuring a sport-tuned suspension, high-performance i-VTEC engines and a high
level of standard luxury features, the RSX promises to deliver truly
exhilarating performance that will thrill a whole new generation of Acura
customers.
