Land Rover Discovery Sets April Sales Record
LANHAM, Md., May 1 Customer response has been positive to
a variety of marketing programs for the Land Rover Discovery. The British-
built SUV posted a 9.8-percent sales increase for April 2001 -- its best-ever
April U.S. sales result -- with 1,751 units sold as compared to 1,594 in April
2000.
"We think the combination of a $399-per-month lease, or 4.9-percent
financing, and the SUV segment's only 30-day money-back guarantee, have put
the Discovery near the top of many more shopping lists," said Howard I.
Mosher, president and CEO, Land Rover North America, Inc.
Land Rover's overall April U.S. results were up slightly over the same
period last year: 2,065 units versus 2,059 units -- a 0.3-percent increase.
