Fairfield, IA -- The story Saturday, April 30, had to be the 2000 'Rookie of the Year' Kenny Byrge. Byrge impressed the field by leading the first half of the feature before giving up the lead to Bart Andrews who eventually took the win.
Last week's winner Jeff Mallonee, of Davenport, IA, and Danny Bradley, of Milan, IL won the night's heat races.
At the start of the feature Byrge led from the pole until lap six when Andrews got underneath him going through turn two to take the lead. Andrews extended his lead leaving Byrge and Mallonee to battle for second. Mallonee passed Byrge for second and set his sights on Andrews. On the last lap Mallonee tried a last minute move to get by Andrews but it wasn't to be. Andrews went on to score his first feature win of the season.
