Buchanan Automotive Group Ranked 74th Largest Dealership, According to Leading Trade Journal; Sales in 2001 Projected At $420 Million

    SARASOTA, Fla.--April 30,2001--Buchanan Automotive Group, with projected sales in 2001 of $420 million, was ranked the 74th largest auto dealership among the top 100 -- a major industry indicator -- in the United States, a leading trade journal reported.
    The top hundred dealerships, together, sold 2.36 million units, or 13.6 percent of all new vehicles sold at retail in 2000 in the United States, according to Automotive News. This was up 12.3 percent for the group over the previous year.
    There are an estimated 21,000 auto dealerships and groups selling new cars in the country.
