TRW Wins 2000 General Motors Supplier of the Year Award

    SAO PAULO, Brazil--April 30, 2001--TRW has been awarded a 2000 General Motors Supplier of the Year Award for excellent performance in Quality, Service, Technology and Price.
    This event marks the fifth consecutive time that TRW's South American braking business has received this award from General Motors.
    Wilson Rocha, director, customer development, TRW Automotive South America, accepted the award during ceremonies held by GM on April 28 at the historic Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.

    TRW's South American braking business has now received 18 Merit Certificates from GM. For TRW, the Supplier of the Year award represents an important accomplishment, not only for the recognition of the quality of its products, but also for the solid partnership that it maintains with GM.
    Among other outstanding points that enabled TRW to be selected for this award include efficient means of meeting customer needs, technical support for new product development and efficacy in the sample approval process. Award-winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance.
    TRW South America automotive operations are comprised of eleven sites in braking, occupant safety systems, steering and suspension systems, engine components and aftermarket replacment parts. TRW is the largest Braking company in Latin America.
    The Company has been a GM supplier since 1971 and has received 19 Merit Award Certificates.
