Superior Industries Receives 2000 Supplier of the Year Honor From GM

    VAN NUYS, Calif.--April 30, 2001--Superior Industries International Inc. today announced that it has been named a General Motors Supplier of the Year for its superior performance in quality, service, technology and price.
    The award was presented during ceremonies on April 28 in Washington, D.C.
    "Superior Industries represents the best of the best and has set an example during the past year for other companies to follow," said Bo Andersson, executive in charge, GM Worldwide Purchasing. "Superior is a role model. It is an honor to work with a company so committed to supporting our priorities for quality, launch and balance between current and future business," he said.
    Louis Borick, president and chairman, said: "We are gratified by this prestigious award from GM. This honor reflects our total commitment to manufacturing and delivery of the highest-quality aluminum road wheels. It is a fitting tribute to all of the dedicated people in our company who work hard to make it happen every day."
    The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Award winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. This year, General Motors honored 165 suppliers from 19 countries for their excellence throughout 2000.
