DaimlerChrysler New Toledo North Assembly Plant Responsible For 9,500 Jobs and $490 Million Annual Economic Impact

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 30 According to preliminary
results of a new economic impact study, DaimlerChrysler's new Toledo North
Assembly Plant will be responsible for more than 9,500 direct and indirect
jobs in the state of Ohio, with $490 million in annual income impact to the
state (total compensation of workers directly and indirectly affected).
    Randy Jackson, PhD., Associate Professor of Geography at Ohio State
University, was contracted by DaimlerChrysler through his company to complete
the study.
    "These results demonstrate the tangible benefits and ripple effects of
large-scale industrial activities like the DaimlerChrysler assembly plant,"
said Jackson.
