NHRA: Team Jeg's will focus on improving

Team Jeg's rolled into the Bristol Dragway as the team to beat. In 1999 Jeg and Troy faced off against in the final round. Last year Troy won the prestigious Winston Showdown in Pro Stock.
In the first qualifying session Troy ran a 7.017 at 196.99 mph and landed in the No. 10 position. Younger brother Jeg made a pass of 7.028 at 196.96 mph and ended up in the No. 15 spot.
"When the Jeg's Chevy Cavalier launched from the starting line it hesitated and took power away from the engine. That hurt us down track. We know what we have to do to improve and we know how to win here," said Troy.
"That is not the way that we wanted to start the weekend in the Jeg's Cavalier. We will get our bow tie back to winning form," commented Jeg.
During the second session Team Jeg's made some changes to the set up in both of the Chevrolet Cavaliers in an effort to improve their qualifying times. Jeg ran a 6.984 at 197.25 mph and moved up to the No. 11 position. Troy did not improve and he slipped to the No. 23 spot. He ran a 7.027 at 197.68 mph.
"We made a move in the right direction during the second session. We just need to get more aggressive and get this Jeg's bow tie back to the top of the qualifying page," said Jeg.
"The car did not respond as well as we thought that should have given the changes that we made between qualifying sessions. We are going to spend a lot of time looking over every component on the Jeg's machine before we put this Chevy Cavalier back into the trailer for the night," explained Troy.
