AMN REPORTS GM SETS UP TEAM TO TAP ACCESSORIES MARKET
AMN reported that GM is not alone in recognizing the potential in the aftermarket. Ford Motor Co. already is pursuing initiatives to increase sales of accessories as part of Chief Executive Jacques Nasser's plan to push the company into auto-related service businesses. Still, despite controlling two-thirds of the new vehicle market, Detroit's automakers have largely left the accessories business to the independent specialty shops and auto parts retail chains.
