Kenworth Hosts "Bring Your Child To Work Day"

KIRKLAND, Wash., April 27, 2001 - Children of Kenworth Truck Company
employees got a special treat on "Bring Your Child to Work Day" yesterday.
Kenworth was among many companies throughout the country hosting the annual
event.

The 11 children saw a television star during their visit to Kenworth
headquarters. They received a special tour of the Kenworth T2000 High-Tech
Truck, which co-stars in the "18 Wheels of Justice" television series on
TNN. The Kenworth T2000 just arrived home last week after spending the past
seven months in San Diego filming 22 episodes for the television show's
second season.

The high-tech wonder features a vision system with rear-viewing video
cameras in the side mirrors and forward-looking night vision over the
windshield. It also includes an electronic GPS navigational system which
talks the driver to the destination, a driver's drowsiness monitoring system
that tracks driver performance, an electronic braking system, and
fingerprint identification technology that recognizes individual drivers.

While at Kenworth headquarters, the children saw an electronic wind tunnel
demonstration. The tool is used by Kenworth engineers to enhance truck
aerodynamics. They also watched a video of the Kenworth T2000 Pikes Peak
truck winning its grueling event in the annual Pikes Peak International Hill
Climb in Colorado last year.

Later in the day, they had a pizza lunch at Kenworth's Renton, Wash.
manufacturing plant, saw various demonstrations at the Kenworth research and
development lab, and did a quality check of a Kenworth truck with plant
personnel.

Kenworth Truck Company, a division of PACCAR Inc, is a leading manufacturer
of heavy and medium duty trucks. Kenworth's Internet home page is at
www.kenworth.com.
