New merchandising range with Schumacher and Bogner
Barcelona/Munich. On Thursday evening BMW presented a 40-minute multivision
show by way of introducing three new merchandising collections in the run-up
to the Spanish Grand Prix. Formula 1 and fashion took centre stage in
downtown Barcelona. Following the official 2001 season's collection of the
BMW WilliamsF1 Team were the new Ralf Schumacher Line and the exclusive items
of clothing that make up the B-fast collection designed by Bogner.
Besides fashion designers Sonia and Willi Bogner, BMW Motorsport Directors
Gerhard Berger and Dr. Mario Theissen also attended the show, along with Ralf
Schumacher and Marc Gene, the test driver for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team.
Team Line is the name given to the comprehensive merchandising collection
whose items all feature the name BMW WilliamsF1 Team. In keeping with the
racing car and the Team's overall appearance, the colours are blue and white.
Beyond typical fan articles such as baseball caps and T-shirts, the
collection offers other fashionable items of casual wear, including official
Team gear as worn at the race track.
The Ralf Schumacher Line comprises 17 pieces featuring the racing driver's
logo, licensed by BMW. Here, too, the colours are on the subtle side,
embracing blue, white and grey.
Upmarket, high-quality clothing can be found in the B-fast collection that
arose from a collaboration with Team outfitters Bogner. Five pieces are
available, all bearing the Team logo and the trademark Bogner "B".
The items in all three collections can be ordered either online - from the
PitShop at www.bmw.williamsf1.com and www.bmw-motorsport.com - or through any
BMW dealer along with select FanStores around the globe.
