MONTREAL, QUEBEC (April 26, 2001)- Key Motorsport is pleased to announce that veteran U.S. F2000 driver Arnold Brinkmann of Quito, Ecuador, has signed with the team for the remainder of the U.S F2000 Championship.

Key Motorsport team owner, Steve Djelebian, expressed his enthusiasm with the signing.

“Arnold is a great person and has been looking for a bit of a change this season by driving the 2001 Van Diemen chassis,” said Djelebian. “He used our spare car during the last race at Homestead and did a great job finishing 12th, after only having approximately five minutes in the car prior to racing it. We look forward to helping progress Arnold’s career this season.”

Brinkmann got down to some serious testing after Homestead with Key Motorsport during the annual “Spring Fling” at Shannonville Motorsport Park.

“Arnold worked hard this weekend to get to grips with his new car. Switching teams and cars is not an easy thing to do with the season already under way,” said Team Owner Steve Djelebian. “I was quite pleased with his progress, Yvan Turcotte and Brinkmann worked very well together.”

Brinkmann’s first official U.S. F2000 race with Key Motorsport will be at the Sports Car Grand Prix, Rounds Four and Five, May 19-20, 2001 at Watkins Glen International in upstate New York.
