GOOD NEWS -Continental Teves Secures Major Ford Contract

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 26 Continental Teves announced
today that it has been awarded a contract to supply its proprietary Electronic
Stability Program (ESP) to Ford Motor Company for use in the all new 2002 Ford
Explorer Sport Utility Vehicle.

    The contract calls for Continental Teves to produce Electronic Stability
Program systems for Ford Motor Company's redesigned 2002 Ford Explorer, the
world's best-selling sport utility vehicle.  Continental Teves will provide
the technology for the Explorer under the Ford trademark name of AdvanceTrac.

    In support of the Ford Explorer 2002 program, Continental will provide a
customized version of its Electronic Stability Program marketed as AdvanceTrac
that includes ABS (Anti-lock Brake System), EBD (Electronic Brake-force
Distribution), TCS (Traction Control System), and ESP (Electronic Stability
Program) functions.

    "We are pleased that Ford has chosen our innovative technology and safety
device known as the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) on its best-selling
sport utility vehicle, the Ford Explorer," said William Kozyra, President of
Continental Teves North America.  "We are glad to be a partner with Ford in
providing this completely re-designed vehicle with the latest safety
technology available."

    The safety system will be produced at Continental's Electronic Brake
System plant in Morganton, N.C. and its actuation plant in Asheville, N.C.
