PixTech Demonstrates 7-Inch Color FED; Pilot Line Production Quantities in 2001 and Volume Production in 2002

SANTA CLARA, Calif. & ROUSSET, France--April 25, 2001--PixTech, Inc. today announced the successful demonstration of its 7-inch color field emission display at the USDC Investor Conference in New York.
Dieter Mezger, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "The public demonstration of the 7-inch color display is a significant milestone for PixTech. We believe there is a large market potential for color FEDs, especially in the fast developing area of automotive navigation and entertainment applications. The 7-inch color FED display has medium to high anode voltage, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a color resolution of 480 x 234 and is designed for manufacturability. We anticipate more pilot production quantities in 2001 and volume production beginning in 2002."
The 7-inch color FED development is partly funded from an Information Society Technologies program of the European Commission, as announced with a press release in January 2000. Partners in this program are Audi, XSYS, Leti and SAES. We expect to deliver 7-inch color display samples to Audi by the end of June.
The USDC is a forum for flat panel display manufacturers, developers, users and equipment materials suppliers. PixTech presented at the 2001 USDC Investors Conference on Tuesday, April 24, 2001.
