Recreation USA Opens New Store in West
Virginia
Location Strengthens Retailer's Presence in the Atlantic Region
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 24 Holiday RV Superstores, Inc. announced today that it will open
a new recreational vehicle and marine dealership in West Virginia, making it
the Company's 16th retail location.
The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based RV and marine retailer, which is operating
under the tradename Recreation USA, has created a satellite location by
partnering with The Great Outdoors, a sporting good store and retail outlet
for Bass Pro sport fishing boats in Ripley, W. Va.
The Ripley dealership, which is located on Interstate 77 between
Charleston and Parkersburg, will carry a line of camping trailers, pop-ups,
motorhomes and mid-sized boats that cater to the interests of the store's
current clientele. The store is Recreation USA's fifth in the Atlantic
region, and second in West Virginia.
"Our new Ripley location represents an excellent opportunity for
Recreation USA to capitalize on an existing retail outlet with great name
recognition in the community to expand our nationwide presence," said Marcus
A. Lemonis, president of Recreation USA. "We realized that many customers
coming to our Prosperity, W. Va. dealership were making the hour drive from
Ripley, so we knew we had a ready-made customer base.
"Rather than starting a new dealership, we found it was more cost
effective to partner with an existing store that offered complementary
products and would benefit from the addition of our product line and our
expertise in service. Recreation USA will continue to look for similar
opportunities to establish new retail locations that will be accretive to
earnings while expanding our market share in key geographic regions."
Recreation USA plans to draw on its existing management team in Prosperity
to launch its new store, which is slated to open in late May. The Company
will add two service technicians to the Ripley team in order to offer basic
repair and maintenance services.
"Our Ripley store allows us to strengthen our presence in the Atlantic
region and reach an already strong base of outdoor enthusiasts who are
interested in hunting and fishing," said Ernie Davis, executive general
manager of the region for Recreation USA. "These people already spend
millions of dollars annually in pursuit of outdoor recreation, and that makes
them excellent potential customers.
"In keeping with our strategy of clustering new stores in key demographic
hubs, the Ripley store gives us the opportunity to draw customers from
Kentucky and Ohio. It is in an excellent location on a key north-south travel
route, and the store itself has great visibility from I-77."
The Ripley store is the second new location for Recreation USA this month.
Last week, the Company announced plans to launch the industry's first
exclusive RV and marine auction in combination with a retail outlet for used
vehicles near Orlando.
About Recreation USA: With the addition of its new auction division,
Recreation USA will operate 16 retail stores in California, Florida, Kentucky,
New Mexico, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Recreation USA, the
nation's only publicly traded national retailer, sells, services and finances
more than 90 RV and 13 boat brands. The Company also markets its offerings
through its Internet site at http://www.RecUSA.com .
