Delphi Connection Systems Stakes Claim As 4th Largest Connector Supplier

    TROY, Mich., April 23 Delphi
Connection Systems debuts today as the fourth largest global supplier of
connectors.  A business group within Delphi Automotive Systems ,
the unit's charge is to design, manufacture and sell connectors into the
rapidly growing datacom, telecom and automotive markets.
    
    "Our perspective of the connector business is broadening," said Kevin
Heigel, Delphi Connection Systems business line executive.  "We are the
leading supplier of automotive connectors and connection systems, and we
recognize that we are highly competitive in the telecom and datacom markets."

    Delphi will put its global manufacturing and engineering expertise behind
this growing business by combining it with the datacom, telecom and military
expertise of its Packard-Hughes Interconnect subsidiary.  The company will
offer an array of connectors and leverage the expertise from years of
designing and manufacturing connectors for automotive and military markets.
Delphi already has invested in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities,
specifically with the global connector business in mind.
