Nissan Kicks Off Fourth Annual Clothing Drive

    Nissan, WAMU, Roll Call and Congress Unite for Retire Your Attire(TM)

    WASHINGTON, April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- Today,
Nissan North America, Inc. launched its fourth annual Retire Your Attire(TM)
clothing drive benefiting thousands of deserving individuals in Washington
D.C., Sacramento and Los Angeles.
    The clothing drive invites donations of business and business casual
attire to assist individuals who seek to join or re-enter the workforce.
Since the program's inception, Nissan's Retire Your Attire(TM) has collected
more than 100,000 items of clothing for local charities in the three cities.
Washington D.C.'s Martha's Table, Sacramento's Women Escaping A Violent
Environment (WEAVE) and Los Angeles' Clothes the Deal benefit from the
clothing drive.
    "We are very thankful for our partnership with Nissan, which helps us
continue to serve the District area with much-needed food, education, and
clothing programs," said Veronica Parke, president of Martha's Table, a
nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting low-income families and
individuals.  In addition to giving Martha's Table all of the clothing
received during the Washington D.C. clothing drive, Nissan will present the
organization with a $5,000 donation.
    The campaign focuses on the Capitol Hill community through the
participation of congressional offices, as well as greater Washington through
the participation of area Nissan dealers.  Donations will be accepted through
May 3rd.
    "Retire Your Attire(TM) has a positive impact on the lives of thousands of
deserving individuals in the Washington D.C. metropolitan community," said
Terri Hernandez, Nissan's manager of corporate outreach.  "It is rewarding for
Nissan to witness the ongoing collaboration with federal legislators, their
staffs and the local community.  Our partnership with Martha's Table continues
to touch the lives of many men and women looking to re-enter the workforce."
    Co-chairs for this year's Retire Your Attire(TM) program are Senator Thad
Cochran (R-MS) and Representative Juanita Millender-McDonald (D-CA).
Congresswoman Millender-McDonald said, "It is a pleasure to be a part of the
Retire Your Attire program, which has an enormous positive impact on thousands
of individuals who are entering the workforce."  Senator Cochran added, "This
is a very good way to support those who are working to make a better life for
themselves and their families."
    Nissan is joined by Roll Call and WAMU 88.5 FM, who have been co-sponsors
of the event since its inception.  "We appreciate Nissan's effort to spearhead
such a valuable program and are proud to act as a media co-sponsor for the
fourth consecutive year.  We hope this year's clothing drive will be a huge
