Advanced Information Systems Changes Name to
DirectCast(TM) Network
MIDLAND, Mich., April 18 Advanced Information Systems, LLC
has changed its name to DirectCast(TM) Network, LLC (DCN). The company has
developed a new category of advertising media, "directcasting," which allows
advertisers to deliver audio messages directly to individual consumers. The
company changed its name to better reflect its products, services, and
technologies, according to its president and chief executive officer, Mark
McKinley.
DCN's original product, the FuelingTalker(R), is a digital audio
point-of-purchase (p-o-p) communication device that DCN installs on fuel pump
handles at gasoline stations with convenience stores. The FuelingTalker units
play a mix of entertainment spots, commercial messages, and public service
announcements while consumers fill their vehicles' fuel tanks. The
PumpRadio(TM) Network, also developed by DCN, develops and distributes these
programs to the FuelingTalker units.
"PumpRadio Network advertising has been producing sales increases of 40 to
300 percent for in-store products," said DCN's vice president of marketing and
sales, Richard Proskow.
DCN's latest product is the CarTalker(R), an interactive, digital audio
p-o-p device specifically designed for car dealers to communicate with
customers when dealer sales people are busy or unavailable -- or when
customers prefer to browse by themselves. The compact, weatherproof device
attaches to a vehicle like a lock box. It allows the dealer to record a 1- to
2-minute message about a particular vehicle or a group of vehicles. The
batteries that power the CarTalker allow customers to activate the message
hundreds of times. After hearing the message, customers are encouraged to
record their own messages, letting the dealer know how and when to contact
them.
"After-hours shoppers in particular represent a large untapped group of
potential customers to car dealerships," said Darrell Jackson, director of
DCN's automotive division.
DCN markets the PumpRadio Network and the FuelingTalker through franchised
dealers. It markets the CarTalker program directly and through manufacturers
representatives and stocking distributors. For further product information,
