Technologue, Inc. Launches OEM and Aftermarket Web Based E-Cat and Information System

WEST CHESTER, Pa., April 19 Technologue Inc., announced
plans to launch the first of its kind, Web-based OEM and Aftermarket --
Electronic Catalog and Information System. For the first time customers will
be able to access OEM parts information by product line based in AAIA's
e-catalog industry standards. The system also features, The Polk Company's
Vehicle Registration Data, IMR's Failure Rate Information, TECfacts Technical
Service Bulletins (TSB's), Competitive Interchanges, Competitive Pricing, and
Free e-CAT Maintenance & Export Programs.
A recent survey conducted by Technologue of the National Catalog Managers
Association (NCMA) members confirmed the need for OEM parts information on the
Web. Also scoring high were competitive interchanges and the ability to
regulate them. Quality was very important, followed by vehicle registration
figures and help with electronic cataloging.
"In the past getting information from industry data specialists were
perceived as expensive and difficult to assimilate so it often went ignored.
Crucial marketing, inventory and production decisions were made in the hopes
that success came by making more good decisions than bad ones. The
Technologue e-CAT / Information System will change that forever," said Nick
Porrini, President of Technologue. "It's not just a matter of convenience,
today more then ever this information is essential to succeed in business.
We've all seen or heard the effects of poor decisions -- there are warehouses
full of them."
NCMA members will preview the Technologue e-CAT / Info System website in
May during their annual conference in Phoenix. A fully operational site is
targeted for early Fall with the arrival of the 2002 vehicle models.
Industry response to the new system has been overwhelming according to
Porrini. "The accessibility and accuracy of such data can greatly increase
the efficiencies of all our jobs," said Lee Wilson of Mighty Dist. of America.
"Catalog departments are under great pressure to cut costs. This could help,"
said Mark Seng, Manager-Product Services of Federal-Mogul Corp.
