Incomparable Hummer Joins Sewell Automotive Companies
DALLAS--April 19, 2001--Whether it's plowing through a flood-drenched underpass near downtown Dallas or charging through the toughest terrain of Big Bend, the HUMMER has settled in at Sewell Village Cadillac/Saab at Love Field, according to Carl Sewell, Chairman/CEO of Sewell Automotive Companies.
"HUMMER folks definitely have fun with their HUMMERS," said Mr. Sewell. "Their best times are when they have found a new challenge for their HUMMER to handle. HUMMERs are meant for rock n' rolling, not for carpooling. With 37-inch tires and a full 16 inches of ground clearance, HUMMER can negotiate obstacles and rough terrain that would be a dead end for other vehicles."
The HUMMER reputation for great times in tough terrains throughout the world has been built on its ability to claw its way up a 60% grade, ford through 30 inches of water, muck or mud and scale a 22-inch vertical rock ledge. Recently, HUMMER engineers have taken the vehicle into the 21st century by developing the following:
- | TorqTrac 4, which continuously monitors the rotation speed of each wheel. |
- | The Central Tire Inflation System, which allows you, as you're driving, to let air out of either your front tires, your rear tires or all four tires putting more tread in contact with the terrain. |
- | Run-Flat System, which will enable you to travel up to 20 miles at 30 mph with no air in one or all four tires. |
All of this housed in a seemingly indestructible, heat-treated aluminum alloy panels, which are first bonded together, then riveted (more like an aircraft than a truck).
As with its Cadillac and Saab lines, Sewell will provide a full line of products and service for the HUMMER customers.
