Auto Makers Abandon London Motor Show

London - Appearently Europeans may be getting tired of worn out car shows that feature glitz and glamour with little real substance. There's word from Europe that Ferrari and Maserati have joined Ford, Vauxhall, BMW and other car makers in a decision to abandon the traditional London Motor Show, typically held in October, and join to form a new auto exhibition to be held at Dockland's Canary Wharf.

Thus far there are some 20 manufacturers who have joined what is being billed as the UK s largest free outdoor motor show. It will be held in June with an estimated attendance of over 350,000 people.

The London Motor Show, which is held at Earls Court, has been demoted to a dealer show.
