NASCAR BGN: Keller looks to Talladega with confidence

Back to the Superspeedway... Keller hopes he turned his superspeedway luck around this season at Daytona International Speedway. Keller finished seventh in the first race of the season and picked up his first top-10 finish at a superspeedway. Couple his top 10 at Daytona with his second-place finish last week, and Keller is poised to finish well again at Talladega.

"I'm excited about every race now," said Keller. "This season has given me and the Albertson's Racing team the confidence we needed. I knew in my heart after the second half of last season that we could run this well. I like Talladega even though it's a tough track. There are so many things that can happen that are out of your control. As a team we are concentrating on building a first-rate race car, completing good pit stops and finishing in the top-10.

"Being in the thick of the points battle is like having that carrot dangling in front you. To be honest, I don't pay attention to it during the race but its one of the first things I look at when I get out of the car. When I'm on the track, I'm concentrating on the task at hand. The issue on the track is not the points, it's the guys I know I have to race against and beat."

Keller Turns 31! ... Keller will be celebrating his 31st birthday on April 23. Keller began racing in the go-kart ranks when he was 10-years old, and was crowned a champion in the World Karting Association's Junior Modified class in 1984 and 1985. Racing has always been a family affair for Keller, so it seems appropriate that he share his birthday with his son Joe. Joe will be turning five.
