Auteo Media Announces Acquisition of Northwest CarNet, Inc.
SEATTLE--April 17, 2001--Auteo Media, Inc. (OTCBB:AUTM), a leading provider of online media, data, and marketing solutions for the automotive industry, announced today that it has acquired Northwest CarNet, a technology company providing electronic commerce tools to Washington State car dealerships.Northwest CarNet currently provides services to over 25 Washington car dealerships.
"Northwest CarNet's products and services complement our product portfolio and strengthen our position in the market," said Steve Van Leeuwen, president of Auteo Media. "In addition to their innovative Internet site development software, Northwest Carnet has developed a pioneering technology for auto dealerships to market and sell auto parts on their web sites. Both of these capabilities fit well with our strategy."
The acquisition of Northwest Carnet will enable Auteo Media to aggregate the parts inventories of its auto dealer customers with the one million parts the company already has in its PartCart system, one of the largest automotive aftermarket accessory sites in the U.S. This new commerce capability, and their Internet site development software, will be widely available to Auteo Media customers in the second quarter of this year in addition to Northwest CarNet's existing customer base.
Through acquisitions and other strategies, Auteo Media is evolving from a regional, single business organization to a national, multiple business organization, offering an expanding portfolio of communications solutions for the automotive industry. The company has reported excellent revenue growth related to its expansion into the northern California automotive market and intends to continue its expansion and further develop its business units.
"The Northwest Carnet acquisition is an important step in our progress and represents another milestone reached," added Van Leeuwen.
