Chrome Data Corporation Leads the Market in Automotive Data Accuracy

    PORTLAND, Ore.--April 17, 2001--

CNW Marketing/Research Study Concludes Chrome is Number One in
Data Accuracy and Vehicle Orderability for Second Year in a Row

Chrome Data Corporation, an independent business-to-business provider of automotive data, configuration technology and software, today announced it was again rated the automotive industry's most accurate and orderable provider of vehicle specification and pricing data in the second annual national study conducted by CNW Marketing/Research.
Data accuracy and vehicle orderability -- the configuration of only buildable vehicles -- directly impact customer satisfaction and dealer and manufacturer profitability, and are essential to any successful build-to-order or locate-to-order system. Chrome continues to be the leading provider of the most accurate vehicle pricing information, with 100% orderable configuration.
"Data is the foundation of the automotive retail channel and is the driving force behind successful LTO and BTO solutions," said Bob Navarre, Chrome CEO. "For fifteen years we've demonstrated our competency in vehicle data and now, for the second year in a row, we've proven our commitment to accuracy. We're dedicated to helping the industry build success by providing an accurate data and configuration technology platform."
The study, "Online New-Vehicle Pricing Accuracy," conducted by CNW Marketing Research, evaluated ten online new-vehicle pricing providers on the accuracy of their data and configuration. Chrome ranked first in vehicle pricing and 100% accurate vehicle configuration, resulting in zero "unwinding" for dealers. Some configuration technology available to consumers via the Web today allows users to configure unbuildable or unorderable vehicles. When this inaccurate research is presented to dealers, they must "unwind" or correct the configuration, resulting in wasted time for both the customer and dealer and negatively affecting the consumer buying experience. Consistent data for both dealers and consumers creates a trusting relationship and increases the chances of turning a one-time vehicle buyer into a lifetime customer.
"With half of all new vehicle buyers using the Internet as a research tool, data accuracy is no longer an option -- it's a requirement for customer satisfaction and dealer success," said Art Spinella, President of CNW Marketing Research. "Data dictates the customer experience and Chrome continues to provide the industry's most accurate data."
