Global Technovations Appoints Michael Pietrangelo to Board of Directors
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.--April 16, 2001--Global Technovations, Inc. (AMEX:GTN) or ("GTI") today announced the appointment of Michael Pietrangelo to its Board of Directors. Mr. Pietrangelo will bring his 30 years of consumer products acquisitions and merger expertise to GTI.Mr. Pietrangelo is currently Of Counsel for Waring Cox, PLC, which recently merged with his previous law firm, Pietrangelo Cook, PLC. He officially joined GTI's Board of Directors as of March 23, 2001.

Prior to returning to the practice of law, Mr. Pietrangelo was president of Johnson Products Co., a subsidiary of IVAX Corp. In 1990 he took a position as president and chief operating officer of Cleo, Inc., a subsidiary of Gibson Greetings, Inc. Mr. Pietrangelo and his family moved to New York in 1989, when he joined Western Publishing Group as president and chief operating officer.
In 1985, Mr. Pietrangelo was named President of the Personal Care Products Group at Schering-Plough Corporation after holding a variety of corporate positions. Prior to joining Schering-Plough in 1972, Mr. Pietrangelo was an attorney with the Federal Trade Commission and Pfizer, Inc.
He is a member of the bar in New York, Tennessee and the District of Columbia. Mr. Pietrangelo has served on the Board of Directors of numerous charitable organizations and corporations including Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Memphis, and Memphis Visitors & Conventions Bureau.
