Car & Truck Interior of the Year Awards
Auto Interiors Magazine Names Finalists for Car & Truck Interior of the Year Awards
Six Finalists to be on Display at The Detroit Auto Interiors Show
ATLANTA, April 11 -- Auto Interiors Magazine has selected six finalists for the publication's second annual Car & Truck Interior of the Year Awards. The three finalists in the passenger car category are the Audi allroad quattro, the Chrysler PT Cruiser and the Lexus LS 430. In the light truck category, the finalists are the GMC Yukon XL Denali, the Oldsmobile Silhouette Premiere and the Toyota RAV4. "Production passenger cars and light trucks, including imports, introduced in North America for the 2001 model year were considered," said Richard Lebovitz, Auto Interiors Magazine co-publisher/editor. "To be eligible for the Car and Truck Interior of the Year award, the vehicles had to be all new or represent a significant redesign. The wow-factor also impacted the judges' thinking so it was important that each contender offered something fresh and original." The judges based the voting on the 48 vehicles submitted for the award on interior appearance, functionality and innovation. Appearance included interior styling, color, materials and fit-and-finish. Functionality included comfort, convenience and safety features. Innovation included both surprise and delight features and also notable improvements over previous vehicles. The winners of the Auto Interiors Magazine's Car and Truck Interior of the Year awards will be announced at The Detroit Auto Interiors Show at Detroit's Cobo Conference/Exhibition Center, May 15-17. The winning vehicles, along with the finalists, will be on display throughout the course of the three-day show.
