Best of Both Worlds Supercross Series Welcomes IRL Drivers to Texas Stadium

EVENT: Top riders from the EA Sports Supercross Series will join Indy Racing League drivers at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas for a "tutorial" on 250cc motorcycles as a lead-in to Saturday's Supercross race and the upcoming Casino Magic 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. An IRL race car will be at the stadium and should provide an interesting "obstacle" for the riders. All participants will be made available for one-on-one interviews.

JEREMY McGRATH This seven-time Supercross champion is the top name in the sport. McGrath, who rides for Team Mazda Yamaha, holds the all-time record for wins in the series, most consecutive race wins, most titles and most consecutive titles. He's currently in second place in the EA Sports Supercross Series point standings.

TRAVIS PASTRANA Seventeen-year-old Travis Pastrana is one of the most exciting young talents in Supercross. The Annapolis, Md., native recently clinched his first 125cc Eastern Regional championship on April 7 in front of more than 60,000 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome, beating out Nathan Ramsey for the crown. Known for his aggressive technique and amazing freestyle moves, Pastrana plans on competing with McGrath and series leader Ricky Carmichael in the 250cc division next season.

JEFF WARD Jeff Ward, a former Supercross champion himself, recently took the pole and finished in fifth position at the Infiniti Grand Prix of Miami on April 8 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The Glasgow, Scotland native retired from motocross in 1992 after posting 20 career Supercross wins and 54 career national motocross wins. Ward competes for Heritage Motorsports, owned by former Indy 500 winners John Mecom Jr. and Jim Rathmann Sr.

CASEY MEARS IRL rookie Casey Mears joined Galles Racing in 2001 to become the teammate of two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser Jr. and fellow rookie Didier Andre. The 23-year-old is the son of off-road racing legend Roger Mears and nephew of four-time Indy 500 winner Rick Mears.
