90% SELLOUT AS AAPEX COUNTS DOWN TO SPACE DRAWING
Orland Park, IL - With just three weeks to go until the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) conducts their annual drawing for booth space, the show is 90% sold out. The space selection process for AAPEX is held at a public drawing that will take place at the Sands Expo Center, May 1 and 2. Exhibitors are grouped according to seniority. "Capsules" for that seniority group are drawn, and exhibitors or their manufacturers' representatives are called by number to select their booth space. The drawing is attended by approximately 250 people, and space will be assigned for nearly 1,500 companies. Show management selects booth space for companies not represented at the drawing, based on booth space choices made on the exhibitor's space application.
"While 90% of the booth space is assigned at the drawing, there are always changes that follow," according to Show Manager, Bill Glasgow Sr., "For a variety of reasons, companies may want to move to another location, or increase their booth size, and we accommodate exhibitors as space becomes available", added Glasgow.
While the deadline to qualify for the space drawing is coming to a close, companies can still apply for booth space, which is assigned on a first-come, first served basis after the Space Drawing. This year, companies who wish to apply for booth space after the drawing can check booth availability at www.aapexshow.com.
Last year, AAPEX had 1,972 exhibitors display in 5,316 booths. AAPEX 2001 will take place Tuesday, October 30 through Friday, November 2 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. AAPEX is sponsored by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). AAPEX is the annual trade show for the automotive aftermarket industry, held in conjunction with Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week.
