DEARBORN, Mich. - Dale Jarrett's third victory in four weeks results in another $10,000 donation from Ford Credit to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to help in its mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. Jarrett won the Virginia 500 at Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Virg., on Sunday, April 8th, for his 27th career victory.

"You know, we've been fortunate to win at a lot of race tracks, but this means as much to me as anything," said Jarrett after his first career victory at Martinsville. "I've been coming here for a long time, as a kid watching my dad race here, and this was the place that I was fortunate enough to get my very first Winston Cup start back in 1984 for Emanual Zervakis."

Based on Jarrett's on-track performance, Ford Credit, associate sponsor of the - 88 - UPS Ford Taurus, has donated $47,500 this year to the Komen Foundation. Ford Credit gives the Komen Foundation $10,000 for each of Dale's victories, $5,000 for each pole (as the fastest qualifier), $7,500 for each second-place finish and $5,000 for each third-place finish over the course of the NASCAR Winston Cup season. Ford Credit has donated $540,000 to the Komen Foundation based on Jarrett's on-track performance and end-of-season bonuses since 1998.

Earlier this season, Jarrett won at Darlington and Texas, won the pole and finished second at Las Vegas, and won the pole at Atlanta. The 1999 Winston Cup points champion remains the 2001 points leader heading into the Talladega 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, April 22nd.
