INDIANAPOLIS - Bradley Motorsports filed an entry April 9 for the 85th Indianapolis 500, with 1996 Indy Racing co-champion Buzz Calkins named as the driver.
Calkins, from Denver, will drive the No. 12 Bradley Food Marts/Sav-O-Mat Dallara/Oldsmobile/Firestone, with an identical backup entered. Todd Tapply is the chief mechanic, and David Cripps is the team manager.
The 85th Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for May 27. Entries must be postmarked by April 11. All drivers will compete for one of the 33 starting spots in the world's most prestigious auto race.
Calkins will attempt to make his sixth consecutive Indianapolis 500 start. His best finish is 10th in 1998. Calkins won the inaugural Indy Racing event in January 1996 at Walt Disney World Speedway.
After two races this season, Calkins is 10th in the Indy Racing Northern Light Series point standings.
