Auteo Media Continues its Rapid California Expansion
SEATTLE--April 9, 2001--Auteo Media, Inc. (OTCBB:AUTM), a leading provider of online media, data, and marketing solutions for the automotive industry, announced today that it is entering the Los Angeles, southern California market. After less than 10 months the company has captured an estimated 30% of the San Francisco market and is now prepared to continue its expansion into what is known as the largest automotive market in the world.
"This news represents a major breakthrough for Auteo Media, for we can continue to replicate our successful and highly profitable Northwest Dealer Specialty operation into the lucrative California market," said Steve Van Leeuwen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Auteo Media. "The California opportunity is at least five times as large as that of Washington due to the population base and sheer number of new and used car dealerships."
Auteo Media's Northwest and California Dealer Specialties business units provide data collection, digital photography, and Internet exposure for hundreds of new and used car dealerships. Currently, the operation has amassed a database of over 400,000 cars from over 6000 dealerships across the U.S.
Through the program, trained Account Specialists visit over 200 dealerships on a weekly basis. Specialists record details of individual cars, take a digital picture and print point-of-purchase window labels. These vehicles can then be placed onto top Web auto sites including: Yahoo(R), America Online(R), and Microsoft CarPoint(R). The beauty of this business model is that we collect our fees from the dealership when the service is provided. Our revenues are not dependant upon the sale of the vehicle," said Van Leeuwen.
The penetration of California Dealer Specialties is key to Auteo Media's business strategy for it paves the way for the company's expansion into wireless customer relationship management system (CRM), ContactAuto.com. This system is currently only available to the Washington dealerships.
