Raudman Looks for Tenth Southwest Series Win This Weekend at Mesa Marin

RAUDMAN LOOKS FOR TENTH SOUTHWEST SERIES WIN THIS WEEKEND AT MESA MARIN

Rancho Santa Margarita, California (April 5, 2001) -- Craig Raudman, driver of Dave Reed Racing's #2 Yerf-dog Fun Karts/ITPS Chevrolet in the Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring and NASCAR Winston West Series, hopes to notch his tenth Southwest Series victory this weekend in the Coors Light 125 at Mesa Marin Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif.

"It would be great to take my tenth victory in my hometown," Raudman said. "I'd like to make that happen for my local fans."

Raudman is one of Bakersfield's most popular drivers. He made the city his hometown several years ago when he moved his popular chassis shop, Victory Circle, there from Valencia, Calif. Raudman has since sold Victory Circle, and still works at the shop as the research and development director.

Raudman's history at Mesa Marin makes him a favorite to win this Saturday. He has, over the years, has collected wins, top-five finishes and poles in both Southwest Series and Late Model events at the ½-mile oval.

Dave Reed Racing has already demonstrated its ability this year in putting fast cars under its driver. Raudman has already collected one Bud Pole Award in the 2001 season two weeks ago at Cajon Speedway in El Cajon, Calif., bringing his Southwest Series career total to ten.

Raudman also won the pole and finished second in last month's season-opening NASCAR Late Model 100 at Mesa Marin. That finish was especially significant since he had to work his way from the rear of the field following an incident mid-way through the event.

Dave Reed Racing operates NASCAR Winston West and Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring teams featuring Craig Raudman as driver. Raudman has collected nine wins and ten Bud Pole Awards throughout his Southwest Series career, and finished in the top five in final points standings in four of his past five full Southwest Series seasons.
