Roadway Express' Clifford Strunk Named a Top Driver by Ohio Trucking Association

    AKRON, Ohio--April 6, 2001--Roadway Express, Inc. announced that one of their elite professional over-the-road drivers, Clifford Strunk, was selected as a "2000 Ohio Trucking Association (OTA) Driver of the Month". He received recognition at a ceremony during the OTA Safety Awards Banquet on March 30, 2001 in Columbus.
    "There was a record number of nominees this year, all with great safety records," stated OTA President, Larry Davis. "Clifford is to be congratulated for his professionalism and long-time commitment to making our highways safer."
    Strunk has been employed with Roadway as a road driver since 1971 and is domiciled at the company's Cincinnati relay. He has an exemplary safety record of driving more than 2,815,349 miles without a preventable accident. He is a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 100.

    As a "Best-of-the-Best" driver, Strunk is a member of Roadway's District 28 Road Team, a special safety-conscious group of drivers that make presentations to civic organizations, media representatives and driver's education classes on how to safely share the road with commercial vehicles. Because of his special qualifications, Strunk has been instrumental in the training of Ohio State Patrol Cadets relevant to commercial vehicle safety.
    Married with two children and three grandchildren, Strunk resides in Mason, Ohio with his wife, Wanda.
