Isuzu Retail Sales Up Eighteen Percent: SUV Sales Follow
Axiom Introduction and Return of Joe Isuzu
CERRITOS, Calif., April 3 American Isuzu Motors Inc.
posted total March 2001 SUV retail sales, up a strong 18% compared to
2000 month-end totals. Much of the increase is being attributed to increased
Isuzu brand recognition driven by the return of advertising icon Joe Isuzu,
and aggressive marketing support programs. Zero-percent interest, 60-month
financing and other attractive sales and leasing programs have greatly
contributed to the sales jump.
The Isuzu Rodeo scored highest, with a 56% increase, a total of
6,463 units. March sales of the exotic and performance-oriented VehiCROSS
were up 27%, while Trooper enjoyed a nine-percent increase.
"We can again feel the strong tide of consumer interest shifting towards
our full-line of SUVs, each backed by America's Longest Warranty," said Duke
Hale, Senior Vice President, COO, SUV, "and this interest is reflected by our
remarkable sales numbers for March. Initial Axiom sales are also positive and
are leading to increased dealership visits and resulting sales. We couldn't
be more pleased."
