Infiniti Celebrates Best-Ever Sales Month

    GARDENA, Calif., April 3 Infiniti, the luxury division of
Nissan North America, Inc., today reported its best sales month in its 11-year
history with March sales of 8,328, an increase of 12.0 percent versus last
year.

    "When we first launched the Infiniti Division back in 1989 we promised to
deliver vehicles that combined luxury and performance to our customers," said
Mark McNabb, vice president and general manager, Infiniti Division.  "Coming
off a record sales year last year and now a record sales month, Infiniti has
kept its promise and will continue to do so in the future."

    Contributing to the record sales month were the Infiniti I30 luxury sedan
and QX4 luxury sport utility vehicle.  As the volume sales leader, the
Infiniti I30 achieved its best sales month ever with sales of 4,763 units, an
increase of 9.6 percent versus last year while the QX4 posted its best March
ever with sales of 1,970 units, an increase of 45.1 percent versus last year.
Both vehicles combined for 6,733 units sold in March.

    Additionally, the flagship Q45 posted increased sales for the third
straight month with sales of 592 units, an increase of 27.6 percent versus
last year.  An all-new 2002 Q45 goes on sale this month at Infiniti retailers
nationwide.  The new Q45 has received rave reviews from the press, consumers
and retailers.

    Rounding out Infiniti's lineup, the G20 luxury sports sedan posted sales
of 1,003 units, a decrease of 21.0 percent versus last year.
