Isabel Jasinowski Elected to Goodyear Vice President Post

    AKRON, Ohio, April 3 The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's
presence in the nation's capital was strengthened yesterday with the election
of Isabel H. Jasinowski, vice president, government relations, as a corporate
officer.
    "Elevating our senior official in Washington, D.C., to corporate officer
demonstrates Goodyear's commitment to our relationships with government
leaders and legislators," said Samir G. Gibara, Goodyear's chairman and chief
executive officer.
    "Isabel's 25 years of experience in Washington is a tremendous asset to
Goodyear and to the U.S. tire and rubber industry," he said. "She has played a
key role with the Transatlantic Business Dialogue organization as it seeks to
harmonize tire standards in the U.S. and Europe."
    Jasinowski, 52, has been Goodyear's vice president of government relations
and head of its Washington, D.C., office since 1995.
    Prior to that, she was director of federal legislative affairs for
Goodyear and previously served the company as Washington representative
focusing her attention on international trade and federal tax matters before
the U.S. Congress.  Since joining Goodyear in 1981, she has represented the
company's public policy positions on a host of global issues with direct
strategic business implications.
    Jasinowski started her career as director of local issues for Gov. Jimmy
Carter's 1976 presidential campaign and gained most of her international trade
and business experience at the U.S. Department of Commerce.  She set up and
ran the Office of Business Liaison, reporting to the Secretary of Commerce.
    A native of New York, Jasinowski has a bachelor of arts degree in
political science from Barnard College and a master's degree from Columbia
University.
    Jasinowski and husband Jerry have two children and live in Washington,
D.C.
