Agilent Technologies Partners With Serco Test Systems to Provide Complete, Customized Test Solutions for Aerospace-Defense and Automotive Industries
PALO ALTO, Calif.--April 3, 2001--Agilent Technologies Inc. has certified that Serco Test Systems has met the rigorous requirements of Agilent's Premier Solution Partner (PSP) Program for two key markets. Serco, part of a global task management firm and systems integrator, is now a primary supplier of Agilent test solutions for the aerospace-defense and automotive industries.
Agilent selected Serco in automotive because it has the resources to meet customer cost, efficiency and performance requirements in today's multinational manufacturing environment with outsourcing of increasingly complex electronic testing. Serco has an installed base across Europe and customers that include the largest automotive component makers. Serco tests more than 30 million automotive electronic assemblies annually. The company's flexible, generic technology allows it to cut customer cost by tailoring solutions in specific locations without having to reinvent systems from scratch. Serco's management skills are particularly important in aerospace-defense, where multi-billion dollar projects often require the supervision of multiple vendors and sub-contractors for long periods, under rigorous security constraints. Agilent has partnered with Serco in this market because of the company's consistent success in providing managed test solutions for very large, sophisticated commercial and military avionics and defense systems, such as the UK Royal Navy's Merlin helicopter.
